The Explorers
The Explorers is 1 of 2 rooms
There are a number of learning areas' within the room to help the children learn through play.
The basis of our planning is centred around the children's interests, we aim to provide a fun and safe environment in which the children can play, learn and develop at their own pace. We encourage children to be independent by giving them access to wide variety of resources and activities, allowing them to decide what and how to use them.
In the explorers the children start to learn new things such as using a knife and fork and drinking out of a cup rather than a beaker.
We have a free flow where the children are able to go into the garden when ever they want to and this allows the children to mix with other children from other groups, and to able to play with their siblings and seeing the other members of staff which helps in the transition into preschool in the summer time after they turn 3 years.
It is in the Explorer Room where we start toilet training, we work alongside the parents to provide a consistent approach to the bathroom routine within the nursery and at home.
