Once babies are almost mobile, they enter the Tweenie Room. Some activities are now focused around tables and chairs, with children spending longer painting, sticking and doing jigsaws around the table. Emphasis is placed on learning to share and play together, whilst not discouraging solitary play.
Children now use the main play area and garden every day, weather permitting, where they have the chance to explore the world around them in their own way.
At this stage in their development, children are introduced the use of cutlery and a cup without a lid. Children are also taught the importance of hand washing and introduced to toilets and potties.
Typically a child remains in the Tweenie Room until the age of 2, although the length of time spent in this room before moving to the Toddler Room can be varied depending on the pace of each child's individual development and the availability of places in the Toddler Room.
