Welcome to our Nursery !
Organised as a non profit making company, the nursery is run entirely for the benefit of the children.
It is possible to register your child for a full time or part time place.
The part time place will be charged either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons per week or 5 full days; even if your child does not attend every day. We do not offer sessional care.
Morning Sessions are from 8.30 am until 1.00 pm
Afternoon Sessions are from 1.30 pm until 5.30 pm
Our Ratio
For the Under Two’s our ratio is: 1 member of staff to 3 children
For the Over Two’s (2 – 3 years) our Ratio is: 1 member of staff to 4 children
For children over 3 years ols our ratio is: 1 member of staff to 8 children
Home Visits
Before your child joins our setting it is important for us to find out as much as possible about your child, so we arrange a home visit so that we can discuss your child’s routines, health ( allergies etc ) and development and for you to ask any questions that you may have for us. This is a good opportunity for the staff to meet you.
Transition into Nursery
We recommend a two week transition period for your child to settle into the nursery. On your first day you may stay with your child. Your child’s transition periods are then gradually increased to allow gentle separation from you.
Fees During Transition
You will be invoiced for the hours that your child stays with us during the transition period.
After the two week period (1 week for Part Time Children) you will be charged at the full rate.
Monthly Fees
Fees are invoiced on the 1st of each month for that month.
Payments should reach JCN by 15th of the month.
You can pay by childcare voucher, bank transfer or set up a standing order.
Fees are calculated on a 51 week base.
Any late payment shall incur a £25 additional charge.
Childcare Vouchers
JCN accepts childcare voucher payments via employers.
If you would like more information please contact the Head of Nursery.
Parental Involvement
Parents are always welcome to take an active role within the nursery.
During the year we organise various events which you are invited to.
We have two parent evenings a year. This gives you, the parent the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with the key person.
We organise fundraising events such as Christmas fairs or summer BBQ s to raise funds.
We are run by a Management Committee, and we are always looking for new members to join.
Parental involvement is also vital for your child's learning and development as you are the prime educators and know what your child's interests are and their preferred learning style.
Studying your child's development file will give you an insight on how your child develops in our setting and may inspire you to promote their learning at home.
Sharing your knowledge about your child's learning experience at home in return will provide valuable information for your child's key person to extend learning experiences here in the setting
