…to Autumn’s mum for the pumpkin cup cakes she brought in for the Under Two’s.
What is happening in November?
The Photographer is coming on Tuesday the 3rd. If you do not wish your child to be photographed, let your child’s key worker know. You will receive a proof photo but you are not obliged to buy any if you are not happy with it.
Our Pre-school children will go into town to build a bear on Wednesday the 4th of November with the first group and on Thursday the 5th of November with the second group.
Remember, remember…. Theresa’s Explorers and Daniel’s pre-school children will make a ‘Guy’ for the 5th of November. As a special feature the Pre-school children will create a firework display on a giant sheet. As usual we will have a Bonfire lunch and tea and afterwards sparklers display in front of the Explorer Room.
On Wednesday the 11th of November there will be a Fun First Aid course for the Pre-school children.
In the afternoon on the 11th of November we will sing some Lantern Songs with lanterns and candle light. On this day in Germany many children will walk their home made lanterns through the streets and parks of their home town or village celebrating the Pre-Christmas time.
Curriculum
During November the children will look at the wider context of their natural environment.
Leaves appear in the most interesting colours, animals behave differently, and some even hibernate. Days are shorter and the nights are longer, looking at the sky in the evening gives children a new perspective and they make new discoveries of the world around them.
Going out to build a bear will enhance their feeling for their group and exploring their environment.
Completing a First Aid course is an enormous achievement filling them with pride and raises their self esteem. This is a good skill for the future and they can pass on this knowledge to others, a positive contribution to their peers and their environment.
The activities on and around the 5th of November are raising an awareness of cultural diversity.
